Waste meat and shell separation

The shell & meat separation system provides a cost effective means both to combat the ever increasing landfill charges and to help processors comply with the latest meat waste regulations. The unit depicted is fitted with a continuous crusher for the processing of larger queen and king scallop shells

The meat waste is discharged via a woven polyester filter belt that provides both continuous filtration of the re-circulated water and a durable transfer medium.

Whilst the meat waste is discharged on the polyester belt the shell is removed by a stainless steel drag bar conveyor. The drag bar angle slats are connected to a heavy duty 8mm chain running in heavy duty chrome on bronze gypsies.

The shell leaving the unit is is as pictured whilst we cannot guarantee the unit is 100% effective the shell by volume is normally 99.5% meat free.
